Description:
The body segments are broad, with thick lateral processes. Cephalon broad. Abdomen is a short rounded knob, reaching obliquely slightly beyond the very short last lateral process
Ocular tubercle extremely blunt. Proboscis bluntly truncate with slight angles at the corners, directed obliquely downwards. Chelifores comparatively feeble, covered with hair, having the chela small and the fingers scarcely forcipate. Palps absent.
Ovigerous legs in male only, with five segments, the most distal of which is flat and terminally pointed, without any claw.
Ambulatory legs slender, more or less elongate, with few setae; tarsus very short; propodus produced and the heel is armed with two or three large spines and a row of teeth on the sole; terminal claw elongate and sickle-shaped; auxiliary claws exceedingly small and laterally placed.
Colour is normally dull green, with a bright green intestinal fluid. Length of the body, taken from the tip of the proboscis to the posterior end of the abdomen, up to 1 mm, with the legs three times as long.
Habitat:
A littoral species.
Distribution:
Mainly southern in distribution: British east and south coasts and France.
